Bio

Frank J. Kokoszka is a senior partner with Kokoszka & Janczur, P.C. in Chicago and practices primarily in the fields of bankruptcy/creditors’ rights and commercial litigation. He appears regularly before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Circuit Court of Cook County. As a bankruptcy attorney, Mr. Kokoszka has represented debtors (both consumers and business debtors) and creditors in chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 cases, as well as secured creditors in out-of-court workouts and assignments for the benefit of creditors. In 2014, he was appointed to the panel of chapter 7 trustees for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He has served as an expert witness in bankruptcy matters. His commercial litigation practice includes contract issues, common law and consumer fraud, collection matters, insurance coverage and injunctive relief cases (including employment disputes, temporary restraining orders and partnership disputes). Mr. Kokoszka has tried jury and nonjury cases at the state level, in federal court and before arbitration panels. He is a member of the Illinois Bar as well as of the Trial Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He has been listed in Illinois Super Lawyers from 2007-26. Mr. Kokoszka received his B.A. in 1986 in political science and English from loyola University Chicago, and his J.D. in 1989 from Duke University School of Law.
