Bio
Michael A. Shiner is a shareholder with Tucker Arensberg, PC in Pittsburgh and has experience in all aspects of bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He has been involved in bankruptcy cases large and small throughout the U.S. and represents major insurers in coverage disputes in both federal and state courts. He also counsels business clients in connection with all aspects of financial and real estate transactions, and provides general representation, especially to distressed companies, including health care providers such as Aliquippa Community Hospital. Mr. Shiner has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law , Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for Bankruptcy: Business and as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star, and he is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section Council, and Attorney Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) Implementation Committee, as well as the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania’s Strategic Planning Committee. Mr. Shiner received his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was admitted to the Order of the Coif, received the the Law Alumni Scholarship, and served as lead articles editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review.
