Bio

Steven D. Jerome is a partner in the Phoenix office of Snell & Wilmer L.L.P. and chairs the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring, and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group, bringing decades of experience representing both debtors and creditors across a broad spectrum of insolvency and financial distress matters. His practice encompasses the full range of bankruptcy and receivership proceedings, including complex chapter 11 and chapter 15 cases, as well as state and federal court receiverships. Beyond traditional insolvency proceedings, Mr. Jerome maintains a robust debtor/creditor litigation practice in both state and federal courts. He regularly counsels and advises clients on how best to strategically navigate complex debtor-creditor and insolvency related litigation. Mr. Jerome has represented parties in proceedings across multiple jurisdictions, advising businesses, financial institutions, secured and unsecured creditors, official and ad hoc committees, trustees, receivers and debtors-in-possession in matters of varying size and complexity. He also offers targeted bankruptcy guidance on select transactional issues such as nonconsolidation, true sale, perfection and preference opinions. Mr. Jerome received his B.S. in 1994 from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business and his J.D. cum laude in 1997 from Creighton University School of Law.
