Bio

Rachel A. Greenleaf is a career law clerk for Hon. Keith L. Phillips of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in Richmond. After graduating law school, she spent a year as a term law clerk for Hon. Kevin R. Huennekens. Upon completing her clerkship, Ms. Greenleaf practiced law at Hirschler, primarily focusing on restructuring and insolvency, before returning to the court in 2018 to clerk for Judge Huennekens. Upon Judge Huennekens’ retirement in January 2025, she began clerking for Judge Phillips. Ms. Greenleaf received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude in philosophy from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and her J.D. with honors from The George Washington University Law School, where she served as editor-in-chief of The Federal Circuit Bar Journal, the official publication of the Federal Circuit Bar Association.
