Bio

Renée Kuperman focuses her practice on representing and advising debtors and creditors involved in bankruptcy litigation and corporate restructuring matters. Prior to practicing law, she clerked for bankruptcy judges in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.


Ms. Kuperman serves as Vice Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee’s Subcommittee of the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA), Special Projects Leader of American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI)’s Bankruptcy Litigation Committee, and has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Federal Bar Association Bankruptcy Law Section. She is also a Delegate in the ABA Young Lawyers Assembly House of Delegates, a member of Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), has served on the NextGen Committee for Tina’s Wish, as pro bono counsel for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and as a mock trial judge.


Ms. Kuperman was awarded one of the first Sheila Smith Emerging Women in Restructuring scholarships, sponsored by the ABI Anthony H.N. Schnelling Endowment Fund, through which she was able to attend ABI’s Winter Leadership Conference in December 2025.


She received her B.S. in philosophy from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and her J.D. magna cum laude from Elon University School of Law and is licensed in DC and NY.
