Bio
Brian A. Kilmer is a partner with McGuire, Kilmer & Roman in Houston. His practice focuses on representing debtors, unsecured creditors’ committees and secured creditors in complex chapter 11 cases in a wide array of industries in such jurisdictions as Texas, Delaware, New York, Michigan, Florida and Louisiana. Mr. Kilmer regularly represents secured creditors and special servicers in single-asset cases, acquirers of distressed assets, and debtors and creditors in out-of-court workouts. He also has extensive experience with general business litigation matters. Mr. Kilmer is a certified mediator in Texas and has been added to the registry of mediators in the Southern District of Texas, the District of Delaware and the Western District of Louisiana. He also has been approved to mediate a number of cases in the Southern District of New York. Mr. Kilmer has been recognized for Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law in The Best Lawyers in America for 2024 and 2025, has been named in Texas Super Lawyers for Bankruptcy every year since 2012, and has been rated AV-Preeminent since 2018. He received his B.S. in 2995 from Plymouth State College and his J.D. in 1998 from Tulane Law School.
