Erlene W. Krigel
Bio
Erlene W. Krigel is a managing partner with Krigel & Krigel, P.C. in Kansas City and heads its bank- ruptcy department, overseeing attorneys who handle chapter 7, 11, and 13 matters for both debtors and creditors. In February 1985, she was appointed by the U.S. Department of Justice to serve as a chapter 7 panel trustee in the Western District of Missouri, becoming the first woman appointed as a trustee in the district. She is regularly appointed to approximately 600 cases per year. In September 1996, Ms. Krigel was appointed by the U.S. Trustee's Office to serve as a chapter 12 panel trustee in the Western District of Missouri, where she is also a regular speaker at bankruptcy seminars. She was admitted to the Mis- souri Bar in September 1979 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas. Ms. Krigel is a member of the Missouri Bar Associa- tion, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, ABI and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. She serves on the Justice for All Committee for Legal Aid of Western Missouri and as a trustee on the Law Foundation board for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. She was awarded the Robert C. Welch Volunteer Attorney Project Award in 2005. Ms. Krigel received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
