Bio
Gordon Z. Novod is a partner at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP in New York, where he practices as a bankruptcy and restructuring attorney. He has nearly 25 years of experience representing litigation trustees, ad hoc and official committees, distressed investors, lenders, indenture trustees, trade creditors, and other parties in complex, landmark restructurings and litigation matters. Mr. Novod’s practice encompasses all aspects of chapter 11 reorganization plans, valuation and plan confirmation proceedings, contested debtor-in-possession financing, fraudulent-transfer actions and corporate debt securities litigation, including matters involving the Trust Indenture Act. He has served as litigation counsel for high-profile engagements, including Bed Bath & Beyond, Loyalty Ventures, GBG USA, High Ridge Brands and Amyris. Mr. Novod is recognized by Chambers USA for Bankruptcy Litigation (2025), named to Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Global Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers list (2024–26), and honored by New York Metro Super Lawyers in Bankruptcy for over a decade. He is a frequent author and speaker on bankruptcy-related topics, including his widely cited work, Driving the Recovery Bus: Augmenting Creditor Recoveries Through Claims Brought by a Litigation Trustee, published by ABI. Mr. Novod is a member of ABI and the Federal Bar Council and its Bankruptcy Litigation Committee, and he is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, as well as before multiple federal courts. He received his B.A. in 1998 from Emory University and his J.D. in 2001 from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
