
Hon. Angela R. Arkin
Angela R. Arkin is a U.S. District Court Judge for the 18th Judicial District in Castle Rock, Colo. Appointed in September, 2002, Judge Arkin is licensed in Colorado, Georgia and D.C. In 2000, she served as a District Court Magistrate in Arapahoe County with a domestic and juvenile docket. Prior to her current assignment, she served as a district judge in Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln Counties. Judge Arkin is a frequent lecturer and author in the areas of family law, DNA evidence and jurisdiction. She was a member of the committee that drafted and helped enact Colorado's Parental Responsibility statute and was actively involved in the legislative effort to pass the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act. She is currently a Colorado Bar As- sociation Judicial Liaison Section Board of Governors Representative, has chaired the 18th Judicial District CLE Committee and is a former president of the Colorado District Judges Association. She is also an adjunct professor of law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Judge Arkin received her J.D. from Emory Law School in 1983.
