Hon. Jacob A. Brown is a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of Florida in Jacksonville. He started his legal career by clerking for Hon. Jerry A. Funk in the same bankruptcy court. Prior to joining the bench in 2021, Judge Brown was in private practice for more than 20 years, representing creditors, committees, debtors and trustees in bankruptcy. He also handled commercial litigation and business law matters in state and federal courts. Judge Brown is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, former chair of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar, and past-president of the JacksonvilleBankruptcy Bar Association. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering, pulp & paper science and technology from North Carolina State University in 1994 and his J.D. from Samford University?s Cumberland School of Law in 1998, where he was a member of Cumberland?s trial advocacy program
