Hon. Noah G. Hillen is Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Idaho in Boise, initially appointed on Aug. 31, 2020, then appointed Chief Judge on Nov. 28, 2023. Following graduation from law school, he clerked for Justice Joel D. Horton of the Idaho Supreme Court. He then spent four years in Boise practicing commercial litigation and bankruptcy law, focusing primarily on representing creditors and trustees in chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 proceedings, as well as financial institutions in complex commercial litigation and workout agreements. From 2014 to 2020, Judge Hillen served as a chapter 7 panel trustee for the District of Idaho. In 2021, he was honored as a member of ABI’s “40 Under 40.” Judge Hillen received his undergraduate degree from the College of Idaho in 2004 and his J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2007.
