Hon. Robert N. Kwan

Hon. Robert N. Kwan is a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California in Los Angeles, appointed by the Ninth Circuit in February 2007. Previously, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Deputy Chief of the Tax Division of the U.S. Attorney?s Office for the Central District of California, where he litigated civil tax and bankruptcy cases, prosecuted criminal tax cases and supervised\nIRS attorneys representing the government in bankruptcy tax matters. He also was a trial attorney for the Civil Rights and Tax Divisions in the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., and was in general private practice in Los Angeles. Judge Kwan received his B.A. from Yale College, his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
