Bio

Jennifer E. Mercer is the Founder and Principal of Command Point Advisors, a strategic advisory firm focused on complex transactions, special situations, and other material corporate events. She has advised on more than 100 transaction, restructuring, and crisis engagements since 1996, providing boards and senior executives with disciplined counsel at inflection points where enterprise value, reputation, and stakeholder confidence are at stake.


Command Point Advisors works alongside boards, CEOs, executive leadership teams, and general counsel on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets activity, strategic alternatives, distressed and special situations transactions, litigation, regulatory scrutiny, shareholder activism, and leadership transitions. The firm is retained when matters demand senior judgment, precise coordination with legal and financial advisors, and communications strategy aligned with governance obligations and long-term enterprise priorities.


Ms. Mercer has advised on numerous high-profile and market-sensitive matters across industries, including Enron, Virgin Orbit, Proterra, Bumble Bee Foods, Barneys New York, and MedImpact’s stalking horse purchase of Elixir. These engagements have involved multi-billion-dollar enterprises, complex capital structures, and heightened investor and regulatory attention. Her work centers on narrative discipline, timing, and disclosure strategy in environments where scrutiny is sustained, and consequences are material.


Her experience spans energy, financial services, technology, healthcare, retail, transportation, and nonprofit organizations. She is known for executive-level judgment, disciplined execution, and the ability to operate effectively within small senior advisory teams managing sensitive and time-critical matters.


Prior to founding Command Point Advisors, Ms. Mercer served as a Managing Director at FTI Consulting. She was previously a Partner at Paladin and held senior leadership roles at Donlin Recano & Company and Epiq. Earlier in her career, she held senior positions at MWW Group, Hill & Knowlton, and Sitrick & Company.


Ms. Mercer has received national recognition for leadership and industry impact, including honors from PR News, Ragan and PR Daily, and Global M&A Network. She is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.


Ms. Mercer holds a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego. Through Command Point Advisors, she advises organizations navigating material transactions and complex corporate developments, providing senior-level counsel when clarity, discipline, and credibility are essential.
