Joel D. Nesset

Joel D. Nesset is a member in the Minneapolis office of Cozen O’Connor. His practice focuses on insolvency, restructuring and creditor/debtor matters generally. Mr. Nesset has represented debtors, trustees, creditors’ committees, contract counterparties and lessors, and various other parties in bankruptcy cases, as well as receivers in state court receiverships. He has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in preference and fraudulent transfer actions. In addition to his general bankruptcy and restructuring practice, Mr. Nesset represents clients in a wide range of transactional matters, including asset sales, financing, leasing, and Article 9 foreclosures. Since 2009, he has been an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he has taught clinical bankruptcy courses. Mr. Nesset received his B.A. in history in 1990 from St. Olaf College and his J.D. magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law in 2000.
