Louis T. DeLucia, Esq.
Bio
Louis T. DeLucia is a partner with Ice Miller LLP in New York and has more than 30 years of experience representing creditors, fiduciaries, trustees, receivers and investors in complex fraud-driven insolvency cases, including securities fraud, Ponzi schemes, fiduciary misconduct and multi-jurisdictional enforcement actions. He is a founding member of Ice Miller’s Distressed Investment Group and regularly counsels clients on identifying red flags, mitigating risk, and maximizing recoveries in distressed and fraud-impacted situations. Mr. DeLucia has played a central role in some of the largest and most complex fraud and Ponzi scheme cases in the U.S., frequently working at the intersection of bankruptcy, regulatory enforcement and asset recovery. His experience includes serving as a court-appointed receiver in major securities fraud matters, counsel to chapter 11 trustees and liquidating trustees, and counsel to official committees of unsecured creditors pursuing recoveries for defrauded investors. Notable matters include representation of the creditors’ committee in a $520 million commercial real estate Ponzi scheme involving nearly 2,000 investors, service as receiver at the request of the New Jersey Bureau of Securities in a large-scale securities fraud action, and representation of trustees and receivers in cases involving unregistered securities, unregistered agents and pervasive fiduciary breaches. His work routinely involves financial fraud investigation, clawback and avoidance actions, insider and third-party litigation, and coordination with regulators and law enforcement. In addition to his fraud and enforcement work, Mr. DeLucia advises lenders, investors and fiduciaries in chapter 11 cases, receiverships and distressed transactions, including asset sales, restructurings and recovery strategies arising from misconduct-driven financial collapse. He received his B.S. in economics in 1982 from George Washington University and his J.D. in 1985 from the University of Tulsa College of Law.
