Bio

Marla Benedek is a member in Cozen O’Connor’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Restructuring group in Wilmington, Del., where she focuses her practice on commercial bankruptcy law, corporate reorganization, creditors’ rights and commercial litigation. She has represented a variety of stakeholders in bankruptcy cases and commercial disputes nationwide, including debtors, trustees, asset-purchasers, lenders, committees of unsecured creditors, and nondebtor contract and lease counterparties. Ms. Benedek litigates contested matters in bankruptcy cases, including those related to pre-petition and administrative claims, cure objections and plan confirmation. She also regularly represents plaintiffs and defendants in adversary proceedings, including avoidance actions and nonbankruptcy causes of action. Ms. Benedek serves on the board of directors of TMA’s Philadelphia/Wilmington Chapter and is serving her second year as co-chair of the chapter’s Network of Women. She is also vice chair of the Delaware Network of IWIRC and sits on the board of directors of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project. Ms. Benedek received her B.S. cum laude in 2012 from the University of Maryland and her J.D. in 2015 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
