Matthew Pesce

Matthew A. Pesce is an associate with Harris Beach Murtha Cullina PLLC in Hartford, Conn., where he advises clients through all stages of litigation. He represents clients with complex financial and litigation needs in both federal and state court in a diverse array of industries, including healthcare, construction, retail and hospitality. Mr. Pesce’s practice centers on commercial litigation matters, including unfair trade practices (CUTPA), business torts, breach-of-contract actions, debtor/creditor litigation, workouts and bankruptcy litigation. Before joining Harris Beach Murtha, he represented clients in a variety of complex commercial and bankruptcy-related matters in federal and state court, as well as federal and state appellate matters. Mr. Pesce previously clerked for Hon. James J. Tancredi in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut in Hartford and for the Connecticut Appellate Court. He also was a judicial extern for Hon. Alfred V. Covello in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, as well as a student intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Civil Rights Division. Mr. Pesce received his B.A. in English and philosophy from Loyola Marymount University and his J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut Law School, where he served as executive editor of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal.
