Mr. Alex D. Moglia
Bio
Alex D. Moglia is the founder and president of Moglia Advisors in Schaumburg, Ill., where he serves as chief restructuring officer, turnaround and financial advisor, receiver, assignee for the benefit of creditors, bankruptcy trustee, liquidating trustee, examiner, expert witness and M&A advisor. Prior to founding Moglia Advisors, he was an investment banker at Continental National Bank and director of Acquisitions at CNW Corp., a diversified publicly traded company, and earlier practiced as a corporate attorney at Winston & Strawn. Mr. Moglia is actively involved in leading restructuring and insolvency organizations, serving as a member of the International Committee of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and as a delegate to a United Nations conference in Vienna, Austria, on bankruptcy and asset recovery. He is a member of the Commercial Receivers Association and helped launch its Tennessee Chapter, previously served on the board of directors of the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers as chair of its International Committee, and served on ABI’s Board of Directors, where he founded and chaired its Finance & Banking Committee. He also participates in the nonprofit Credit Abuse Resistance Education Group, which advises high school students on responsible credit use and financial aid for college. Mr. Moglia received his B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, attended the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business, and received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. He is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and French, and has a working knowledge of Italian.
