
Mr. Andrew I. Silfen
Andrew I. Silfen is a managing partner of Arent Fox LLP?s New York office and leads its Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring practice. Experienced in all aspects of financial restructuring, distressed situ- ations and bankruptcy issues, Mr. Silfen represents creditors? committees, indenture trustees, agents and bondholders in bankruptcy proceedings, as well as acquirers of and investors in troubled, distressed and bankrupt companies. He also has experience representing strategic and control investors. Mr. Silfen has played a prominent role in large and small restructurings and bankruptcies throughout the U.S. He is a chairman and trustee of the executive committee of the New York Institute of Credit, and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Association of In- solvency and Restructuring Advisors; he was only the second lawyer to be selected to the board at that time. Mr. Silfen serves on two subcommittees for the American Bar Association: the Subcommittee on Indentures and Bankruptcy and the Subcommittee on Bankruptcy Committees. He is also a member of the Turnaround Management Association and Brooklyn Law School?s Barry L. Zaretsky Annual Bank- ruptcy Roundtable Steering Committee. Mr. Silfen has lectured frequently on current restructuring, bankruptcy and investing issues. He has also contributed to various publications and seminar materials on various restructuring and bankruptcy topics. Mr. Silfen received his B.A. cum laude in 1983 from Brandeis University, his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1986, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and his LL.M. in corporate law in 1994 from New York University School of Law.
