Mr. Gaurav Malhotra

Gaurav Malhotra, CFA is a partner and principal at Ernst & Young US, LLP and a senior manag- ing director at Ernst & Young Capital Advisors LLC, and is based in Chicago. He has more than 15 years of financial and operational restructuring experience, and has extensive experience in represent- ing stakeholders throughout the capital structure, including debtors and secured/unsecured creditors. Mr. Malhotra has represented numerous companies and stakeholders in evaluating strategic alternatives and executing complex transactions to maximize value. He is experienced in both in-court and out-of- court restructuring transactions including distressed M&A and leveraged finance transactions. He has also been involved in the restructuring of various publicly traded, multi-billiondollar institutions. Over the last few years, Mr. Malhotra has spent significant time in restructuring large public-sector entities including cities, counties and school districts. He was the lead partner for EY in representing the City of Detroit as its financial restructuring advisor, testifying as an expert witness several times in bank- ruptcy court on a variety of issues pertinent to the city's restructuring plan predominantly focused on cash flows, 10/40 year financial projections, labor settlements and financing transactions. He is also the lead partner for EY Parthenon, representing Detroit Public Schools in its ongoing restructuring efforts including cash flow forecasting, education strategy, labor-related initiatives, facility rationalization and long-term forecasting. Mr. Malhotra is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. He received his undergraduate degree from the Mr. Malhotra graduated from the University of Delhi, where he was on the Dean's List, and his M.B.A. in finance and business policy from Case Western Reserve University.
