Mr. Jack L. Smith

Jack L. Smith is Of Counsel with Holland & Hart LLP in Denver and has practiced in the fields of bankruptcy, insolvency and creditors' rights for more than 30 years. He has represented creditors, debt- ors, asset-purchasers and other parties in bankruptcies, workouts, receiverships and litigation, primarily involving commercial matters and spanning a wide range of business areas. He has particular experience with major acquisitions through contested and competitive bidding processes. Mr. Smith also serves clients in out-of-court workouts, receiverships, and state and federal court litigation of business disputes and creditors' rights, and regularly counsels both debtor and creditor clients about insolvency issues in transactional matters. Mr. Smith has been a member of the Board of Editors and has authored more than 25 articles for The Bankruptcy Strategist since its inception. He is a past chair of the Colorado Bar Asso- ciation's Bankruptcy Subsection, a member of ABI and a Fellow of the American College of Bankrupt- cy. He received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and his J.D. from Cornell Law School.
