Mr. Jeffrey E. Schmitt

Jeffrey E. Schmitt is counsel in the Commercial Litigation Unit of the Federal Deposit Insurance Cor- poration's Litigation and Resolutions Branch in Washington, D.C. He is responsible for managing com- plex bankruptcy, civil and administrative litigation on behalf of FDIC receiverships, and advises other sections of the FDIC with respect to bankruptcy matters. Prior to joining the FDIC, he was a member of the Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Group at White & Case, LLP, where he represented debtors, secured creditors and creditor committees. Mr. Schmitt received his B.A from Dartmouth College and his J.D. with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law.
