Mr. Jeffrey M. Reisner

Jeffrey M. Reisner is a partner and former member of the Executive Committee of Irell & Manella LLP in Newport Beach, Calif., and is the head of its Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors' Rights practice group. He specializes in representing private equity, hedge funds, and privately held and public companies and high net-worth individuals in connection with the reorganization of their (or their port- folio companies') financial affairs, and as creditors of others in financial distress. He also represents for- mal and informal creditors' committees, acquirers of assets, investors, independent directors, boards of directors, trustees and creditors in bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings throughout the U.S. Mr. Reisner's work with financially distressed companies and individuals has spanned many industries, including defense contractors, automotive and trucking, restaurants and hospitality, convalescent and health care, energy, technology, building supply, sporting goods, textiles, distribution, manufacturing, mortgages, payroll, aerospace, medical testing and devices, entertainment, communications technology, sporting goods and real estate. His practice also includes the acquisition of assets from, and realization of investment goals in connection with, troubled companies in these and other industries. Mr. Reisner is consistently recognized in Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. He is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy Lawyers and of the Litigation Counsel of America, and was appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Bankruptcy Task Force. Mr. Reisner received M&A Advisor's 2014 "Restructuring Deal of the Year Award" for his successful representation of the Official Creditors' Committee in the American Suzuki chapter 11 bankruptcy case. In 2013, he was named Best Lawyers's Orange County Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insol- vency and Reorganization Law "Lawyer of the Year," an honor bestowed upon only a single lawyer in each practice area in each community. Mr. Reisner was recognized for his successful representation of William Lyon Homes in a special report by Turnarounds & Workouts highlighting "2012 Successful Restructurings" and was selected as one of Corporate Counsel's 2010 Top Lawyers for Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights Law. Mr. Reisner earned his B.S. in industrial and labor relations in 1985 from Cornell University and his M.B.A./J.D. in 1989 from New York University.
