
Mr. Kenneth L. Cannon
Kenneth L. Cannon, II is a shareholder in the law firm of Durham Jones & Pinegar in Salt LakeCity, where he specializes in commercial bankruptcy law. He has represented all types of parties in interest in workouts, chapter 11 reorganization cases and chapter 7 cases, receiverships, and litigation arising therein. Mr. Cannon has advised clients with respect to bankruptcy issues in a variety of commercial transactions and has issued critical opinions related to those transactions. He also has acted as a mediator in the resolution of substantial disputes and as an expert witness on commercial law issues. Mr. Cannon is a member of the Advisory Board of ABI?s Rocky Mountain BankruptcyConference and is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, currently serving as the TenthCircuit Regent. He has twice been awarded The Best Lawyers in America?s Salt Lake City Lawyer of the Year award, in 2019 for Bankruptcy Litigation and in 2010 for Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Law. Mr. Cannon is an adjunct professor of law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law at theUniversity of Utah, where he sometimes teaches a course on commercial law; he was formerly an adjunct faculty member at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He has published articles and is a frequent lecturer at seminars on a variety of bankruptcy topics, and he is admitted to practice in Utah and New York. Mr. Cannon received his B.A. summa cum laude, hisM.A. in American history and his J.D. cum laude from Brigham Young University, where he wasa member of the Order of the Coif. In 1985, he served as a senior Fulbright Scholar on the Oikeus-tieteelinen Tiedekunta (law faculty) at the University of Helsinki, where he conducted research onScandinavian insolvency law.
