Mr. Mark A. Broude

Mark A. Broude is a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins LLP, where he is a member of its Finance Department and of its Banking, Derivatives, and Restructuring, Insolvency & Workouts practices. He focuses on business reorganization, creditors' rights, unsecured creditors' committees and bank finance. Mr. Broude represents pre- and post-petition lenders in workouts and chapter 11 cases, bondholders (both individuals and formal and informal committees), parties to derivative and other complex financial instruments where the counterparty is a debtor under chapter 11 or in a case under SIPA, potential acquirers of assets of companies in chapter 11 (both under ¤ 363 and pursuant to plans of reorganization) and statutory committees. He also represents debt- ors in complex chapter 11 cases, including Spring Air Partners and a major Atlantic City hotel and casino company. Prior to joining the firm in June 2002, Mr. Broude was a partner at Schulte Roth & Zabel in New York. He has been named one of the leading practitioners in the restructuring and insolvency arena by Chambers USA and Chambers Global. A prolific writer and frequent speaker, Mr. Broude is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Inter- national Bar Association and Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and he is admitted to practice in the New York. He received his B.A. cum laude from Williams College and his J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif.
