Mr. Michael E. Baum

Michael E. Baum is the managing member of bankruptcy boutique firm Schafer and Weiner, PLLC in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., where he specializes in bankruptcy and commercial law, with a focus on debtor and creditor rights. He is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification, and was selected for inclusion in Leading Lawyers Magazine for 2014 and 2015), as well as in Michigan Super Lawyers for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. Mr. Baum is a mem- ber of the American Bar Association Sections on Business Law, General Practice, Litigation, and sits on the Mediation Panel of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Michi- gan, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Sixth Circuits, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Mr. Baum received his B.S. with distinction in computer science in 1974 and his J.D. in 1978 from Wayne State University, and his Ph.D. in 1976 from Beth Yehuda Rabbinical College.
