Bio

Nathan E. Delman is a senior associate with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP in Chicago, where he focuses his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters including business reorganization, committee representation, and the protection of secured and unsecured creditors’ rights in insolvency situations. He has represented creditors’ committees, liquidating trustees and chapter 7 trustees, and he has experience both prosecuting and defending adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court. Mr. Delman also has experience in citation hearings, foreclosure defense and UCC Article 9 sales. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate in the Bankruptcy, Reorganization, and Creditors’ Rights Group at HMB Legal Counsel, and was the firm’s resident resource on personal bankruptcy. Mr. Delman frequently lectures on bankruptcy matters on both local and national stages, and he co-chaired one of ABI’s most prestigious regional conferences for three years. He was appointed as an inaugural member of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Local Rules Advisory Committee, which provides direct communication with the bench on the applicable local bankruptcy rules. He currently serves as vice chair for the Chicago Bar Association’s Bankruptcy and Reorganization Committee. Mr. Delman was recognized as an Illinois “Rising Star” in 2020 and a Super Lawyer in 2024 and 2025 for Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights. He was also part of the teams that won the 2022 Out-Of-Court Restructuring Deal of the Year from The M&A Advisor, and the 2020 Small Business Turnaround of the Year Award from TMA Chicago/Midwest. Mr. Delman received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and his J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law.
