Mr. Paul J. Keenan

Paul J. Keenan, Jr. is a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig LLP's Business Reorganization and Finan- cial Restructuring Practice in Miami, where he represents corporate debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases, receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, loan workouts, asset sales, wind-downs and UCC foreclosures. He represents clients in courts across Florida and nationwide, including wide- ranging experience before the bankruptcy courts in Delaware. He also provides insolvency-related struc- turing advice and legal opinions in connection with complex financial transactions. Mr. Keenan is a past president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida and has substantial experience in cross-border bankruptcies and restructurings, having lived and worked in Latin America and the Caribbean. He is a Fellow of INSOL International for having completed an intensive course in cross-border restructurings, and he was one of the lead restructuring lawyers for SatÂ?lites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V., whose restructuring of $420 million of debt was awarded the "Restructuring Deal of the Year Award" by Latin Lawyer magazine. He was also one of the lead attorneys in obtaining official recognition in Colombia of a U.S. chapter 11 bankruptcy case under the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency for a company operating in both the U.S. and Colombia, which was the first time the courts of Colombia had granted such recognition. Mr. Keenan served as an officer in the U.S. Navy on active duty for seven years prior to studying law. He received his B.A. from Tufts University in 1990, his M.M.A. from the University of Rhode Island in 1996 and his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000.
