Mr. Randy J. Creswell

Randy J. Creswell is a shareholder and director of Perkins Thompson in Portland, Maine, where his practice focuses on commercial and consumer bankruptcies and out-of-court insolvency proceedings and receiverships, predominantly representing secured creditors, businesses, lenders, banks, vendors, lessors and other financial entities. He has extensive experience litigating complex commercial cases in state and federal court, including the Maine Business & Consumer Court, and he has served as counsel to numerous chapter 7 trustees in bankruptcy liquidation cases, as well as to many creditor committees under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. He has prosecuted and defended scores of preference, fraudu- lent transfer and breach of fiduciary duty cases, and he has substantial experience in litigating nondis- chargeability and denial-of-discharge cases in bankruptcy court. Mr. Creswell is AV Peer-Review Rated for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability by Martindale-Hubbell, and every year since 2009 he has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law. Since 2013, he has also been recognized by Best Lawyers in the field of Litigation â??Bankruptcy. Prior to prior to joining Perkins Thompson, Mr. Creswell clerked for Hon. Gene Carter and Hon. David M. Cohen of the U.S. District Court for the Dis- trict of Maine, and prior to those clerkships he served as a law clerk for the Connecticut Superior Court. Mr. Creswell has served on the Local Rules Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maine since 2008. He recieved his B.A .cum laude from the University of Southern Maine in 1995 and his J.D. cum laude from Quinnipiac College School of Law in 1997.
