Mr. Richard C. Pedone

Richard C. Pedone is a parrtner with Nixon Peabody LLP in Boston and is a member of the firm's Busi- ness & Finance Department. He represents strategic buyers of financially troubled businesses, purchas- ers of distressed debt, creditors and other parties in the financial restructuring and bankruptcy processes. Many of the matters that he handles involve litigated disputes, allegations of fraud and insolvency pro- ceedings pending in multiple jurisdictions. Over the past several years, Mr. Pedone has been involved in numerous energy-related restructuring matters, including the bankruptcy of Energy Future Holdings â?? the largest failed LBO to date. He also provides corporate governance and liability avoidance advice to private-equity firms, directors and officers dealing with special situations. In addition, he serves as outside general counsel to several growing businesses and as a member of the board of advisors for a specialty financial services firm. Mr. Pedone received his M.S. in 1992 from the London School of Eco- nomics and his J.D. in 1995 from Boston College Law School.
