Ms. Deborah Kanner Ebner

Deborah K. Ebner is the principal of The Law Office of Deborah Kanner Ebner in Chicago. She is ex- perienced with the representation of debtors-in-possession and creditor committees in chapter 11 cases in a multitude of business environments, and is proficient in chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13. Ms. Ebner is AV- rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has served as a federal bankruptcy trustee since 1983. She is admitted to the Illinois Bar and has served as faculty for ABI, the Chicago Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and for numerous bar associations, including the Illinois, Chicago and Will County Bar Associations, and she is the author of Chapter 22 of the 2003 IICLE Residential Real Estate Publication, "Residential Real Estate in Bankruptcy," and she co-authored its 2008 update and com- pleted its 2011 edition. Ms. Ebner has participated in a multitude of legislative activity, including the provision of technical comment to the House Judiciary Committee concerning proposed changes to the Bankruptcy Code, and the development of comment for the Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules and the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Practice of the Judicial Conference of the United States. She also recently created an Of Counsel affiliation with FactorLaw in Chicago. Ms. Ebner received her J.D. from Samford University Cumberland School of Law in 1981.
