
Ms. Monsita Lecaroz-Arribas
Monsita Lecaroz-Arribas, CIRA has been the Assistant U.S. Trustee for the District of Puerto Rico, Region 21, in San Juan, P.R., since 2004. Her supervisory duties within the U.S. Department of Justice include overseeing all filed bankruptcy cases, combating fraud and abuse in the bankruptcy system, supervising trustees and estate administration, monitoring professional compensation and conduct, and ensuring compliance with bankruptcy law and procedure. As a member of the Office of Criminal En- forcement, she also supervises the criminal enforcement efforts of various regions with the U.S. Trustee Program. Ms. Lecaroz-Arribas' private practice experience includes restructuring and bankruptcy ne- gotiation and litigation representing chapter 11, 13 and 7 debtors, chapter 7 trustees, creditors and unse- cured creditors' committees, and as a chapter 13 trustee staff attorney. She is certified to practice law in the state courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and is a certified notary public. Ms. Lecaroz received a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico Law School.
