Bio
Robert A. Cox, Jr. is a partner in the Charlotte, N.C., office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, where he focuses his practice on financial restructuring and insolvency, including bankruptcy matters, creditors’ rights, commercial workouts, receiverships, bankruptcy-related litigation and distressed-asset acquisitions. He represents corporate debtors, secured lenders, creditors’ committees, unsecured creditors, asset-acquirers, lessors, equity holders, and other parties-in-interest in bankruptcy cases and out-of-court workouts throughout the U.S. Mr. Cox is active in ABI, for which he serves on the advisory
board for its Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop, and in the North Carolina Bar Association’s Bankruptcy
Section, having chaired the section from 2011-12. He is listed in Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in
America and Super Lawyers. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Cox clerked for Hon. J. Craig Whitley, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of North Carolina. He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 1992 and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995.
