Scott Bomkamp

Scott Bomkamp is a trial attorney in the Orlando, Fla., office of the U.S. Trustee Program. He oversees bankruptcy cases under of every chapter of the Bankruptcy Code to ensure compliance with the law and to prevent fraud and abuse. Recently, Mr. Bomkamp was the U.S. Trustee’s lead counsel in the liquidation of the Stein Mart chain of retail clothing stores. He is a frequent speaker and writer on emerging topics in bankruptcy law and published an article in the September issue of the ABI Journal regarding the controversial practice of bifurcating chapter 7 attorney fees. Mr. Bomkamp supervises the Jacksonville, Fla., chapter 7 trustee panel and is a fixture in the Jacksonville bankruptcy community. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from Indiana University School of LawBloomington and clerked for Hon. Russ Kendig in the Northern District of Ohio.
