Stephen A. Metz
Bio
Stephen Metz is a principal at Offit Kurman, P.A. in its Bethesda, Maryland office. He has represented almost every type of party in interest in business and consumer bankruptcy cases in cases of all sizes from no-asset consumer cases to mega Chapter 11 cases, including matters involving significant litigation in adversary proceedings, contested matters, and appellate matters. He serves as a Subchapter V trustee in cases filed in the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Maryland, District of Columbia, and the Eastern District of Virginia (Alexandria Division). Additionally, he represents insured owners and lenders in title dispute matters in state and federal courts. He is a former president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the District of Maryland and currently serves as a board member and treasurer of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees Foundation, Inc. He is also a member of the Walter B. Chandler American Inn of Court, Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association, National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, Maryland State Bar Association, and Montgomery County, Maryland Bar Association. Stephen Metz has been honored as a top lawyer by Maryland Super Lawyers, Washington DC Super Lawyers, Bethesda Magazine, Best Lawyers in America, and Washingtonian Magazine. Mr. Metz graduated cum laude from Penn State Dickinson Law.
