Zach Hemenway

Zach thrives as a bankruptcy litigator because he loves the challenge of understanding and explaining complex issues. Zach represents clients in bankruptcy proceedings and litigation, focusing his advocacy on the most complicated issues and finding solutions and strategies that are creative, practical, and elegant. He represents secured and unsecured creditors, unsecured creditors' committees, and asset purchasers in large Chapter 11 cases across the country, as well as working to protect creditors' rights and advise parties in a variety of other matters involving financial distress. Zach's bankruptcy practice draws on his experience as a litigator focusing on high-stakes business disputes, securities litigation, and antitrust. He has also represented clients in appeals before multiple circuit courts, the Missouri Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court. In addition to his bankruptcy and litigation work, Zach leverages e-discovery experience drawn from work on massive antitrust cases to advise clients on issues relating to collection, preservation, and technology assisted review. He has also assisted clients across a wide range of internal and external investigations, including negotiating with government agencies and making internal presentations to boards, officers, and general counsels. When he's not practicing law, Zach plays alto saxophone in Kansas City's best (and only) New Orleans brass street parade band
