
Mr. Frederic D. Grant
Frederic D. Grant, Jr. practices with the Law Office of Frederic D. Grant, Jr. in Boston, where he focuses on bankruptcy, debtor/creditor and business-litigation matters. He is a member of the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations, ABI and the American Association for Justice. Dr. Grant authored The Chinese Cornerstone of Modern Banking: The Canton Guaranty System and the Origins of Bank Deposit Insurance 1780-1933 (Studies in the History of Private Law, Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, Brill, Netherlands, 2014), is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education programs, has written numerous articles on law and legal history, and is an editor of the China Deposit Insurance Observer. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Bates College, his J.D. cum laude from Boston College Law School in 1983 and his Ph.D. in history from Leiden University in 2012.
