Mr. Mark A. Shaiken

Mark A. Shaiken is a partner with Stinson Leonard Street LLP in Denver and for more than 30 years has represented debtors, lenders and committees in more than 20 different state and federal jurisdictions and bankruptcy courts across the country. His practice focuses on all facets of bankruptcy, insolvency and reorganization matters, as well as creditors' rights, including workouts, real estate foreclosures and related litigation, personal property replevins, Reg B, collections and lender-liability defense. Ad- ditionally, he taught advanced bankruptcy law at the University of Kansas for 14 years and was named a Lawyer of the Year by The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights and Insolvency and Reorganization. Before joining the firm, Mr. Shaiken clerked for Hon. James A. Pusateri of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas. He is a member of ABI and the Colorado Bar Association and is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Shaiken is admitted to practice in Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, Texas and Pennsylvania, and before the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Colo- rado, Kansas and Nebraska and the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, the U.S. Courts of Ap- peals for the Eighth and Tenth Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He received his B.A. in American studies in 1977 from Haverford College and his J.D. cum laude in 1981 from Washburn University.
