Mr. Harley E. Riedel

Harley E. Riedel is the co-managing shareholder and a co-founder of Stichter, Riedel, Blain & Prosser,P.A. in Tampa, Fla., and often serves as counsel for debtors in possession or other key constituencies in some of the largest chapter 11 cases ever filed in Florida. He regularly represents debtors, commit-tees, creditors, buyers and other parties in bankruptcy cases and out-of-court workouts. Mr. Riedel has participated in mediations of disputes on behalf of his clients in hundreds of matters. In addition, for the past 15 years a significant part of his practice has been serving as a mediator in disputes involving bankruptcy and commercial matters. He has been involved both as a mediator and as an advocate in a number of Zoom or telephonic mediations over the past year. Mr. Riedel has spoken and written on bankruptcy-related topics for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, the American Bar Association, ABI, the Southeastern Bankruptcy Law Institute, the Florida Bar, and numerous other legal and business groups. He is also the principal author of the section on chapter 11 practice in both editions of the Norton Handbook for Bankruptcy Trustees, Debtors-in-Possession, and Committees. Mr. Riedel received his B.A. in 1971 from Baylor University and his J.D. with high honors from the University ofFlorida in 1974, where he was editor-in-chief of the University of Florida Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
