Mr. Phillip L. Kunkel

Phillip L. Kunkel is a shareholder at Gray Plant Mooty in St. Cloud, Minn., where he concentrates his practice on commercial financing and bankruptcy. He has served as a chapter 11 trustee, arbitrator and mediator in numerous debtor/creditor and bankruptcy matters and as a technical advisor to the Inter- national Finance Corp., a group within the World Bank, on agricultural financing matters. He is also a frequent speaker on commercial and agricultural financing, workouts and bankruptcy. Mr. Kunkel is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and is the past chair of the Minnesota State Bar Associa- tion's Bankruptcy and Business Law Sections and the UCC Committee of the Business Law Section. He is also a co-editor of the Minnesota Debtor-Creditor Handbook and has been actively involved in the enactment of the 2001 and 2010 revisions to Article 9, conforming amendments to other Minnesota statutes, and the development and enactment of Minnesota's first comprehensive receivership statute. Mr. Kunkel is admitted to practice before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He received his undergraduate degree in 1974 from St. John's University and his J.D. cum laude from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1977.
