
Mr. Gary T. Holtzer
Gary T. Holtzer is a partner and co-chair of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP's Business Finance & Re- structuring Department in New York, where he practices in all areas of domestic and international re- structurings, crisis management, corporate governance, financings and acquisitions involving distressed situations. Mr. Holtzer is an adjunct professor at Cardozo School of Law and a Fellow of the Heyman Center on Corporate Law. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and has been rec- ognized by Chambers USA in the area of Bankruptcy/Restructuring and in the 2013 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Holtzer's lead role in company-side restructurings includes Financial Guaranty Insurance Co., General Growth, Highland Hospitality, Nortek, Pilgrim's Pride, Panolam, International Aluminum, TI Auto, Vertis Holdings, Inc., Syncora Guarantee, Silicon Graphics, Parmalat and Velocita Corp. He also represents lenders and other parties, including General Electric Capital Corp., Goldman Sachs and Brookfield Asset Management, in financings and acquisitions involving troubled companies, including in the cases of Penton Media, Harrah's, Spectrum Brands, Circuit City, JHT Trucking, KMC Telecom, Sea Containers, Calpine, Montgomery Ward, Kmart, Comdisco, Conseco Finance, Budget Rent-A-Car, Viskase, Xerox, EZ Serve Convenience Stores and Clark Retail Enterprises. Mr. Holtzer received his B.S. in 1986 from Cornell University and his J.D. from Cardozo Law School in 1990.
