Mr. David A. Lerner

David A. Lerner is a partner with Plunkett Cooney, PC in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and a member of its Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditors? Rights Practice Group. He has represented banks, other financial institutions, creditors and title insurance companies in bankruptcy proceedings in Texas and Michigan since 1984. Mr. Lerner?s experience includes the enforcement of secured creditors? rights and financing of debtors? operations. He also is experienced in the representation of debtors-in-possession, trustees, landlords, purchasers and other secured parties in both bankruptcy and out-of-court proceedings. Mr. Lerner\nis admitted to the State Bar of Michigan (Creditor Rights and Real Property Sections) and the New York Bar Association, and he is a member of the Detroit Consumer Bankruptcy Association, the American Law Firm Association?s Bankruptcy Practice Group, ABI, the Federal Bar Association (for which he serves as Bankruptcy co-chair) and the Walter Shapero Bankruptcy Symposium Organization (for which he serves as trustee). He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/ Insolvency and Reorganization Law from 2015-2020 and as a Top Lawyer in Banking and Creditors?/ Debtors? Rights in Dbusiness magazine for 2018. Mr. Lerner attended Hebrew University and received his B.A. and B.S. cum laude from the University of Cincinnati in 1980, and his J.D. in 1983 from Syracuse\nUniversity College of Law.
