Mr. Howard Brod Brownstein

Howard Brod Brownstein, CTP is president and CEO of The Brownstein Corp. in Conshohocken, PA, which provides turnaround management and advisory services to companies and their stakeholders, as well as investment banking services, fiduciary services and litigation consulting, investigations and valuation services. Mr. Brownstein has served as financial advisor to debtors, lenders and creditor committees in bankruptcy proceedings, and as a litigation expert in several cases including the landmark Merry-Go-Round bankruptcy. He also served as Plan Administrator in Montgomery Ward, the largest retail liquidation in history. He has served on the international board of directors of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and received TMA?s ?Outstanding Individual Contribution? award. In addition, Mr. Brownstein served on the Board of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), and cochaired its Complex Financial Restructuring Program and Mid-Atlantic Bankruptcy Workshop for several years. He is a Coordinating Editor of the ABI Journal. He also served on the governing board of the Education Foundation of the Secured Finance Network (SFNet, formerly the Commercial Finance Association - CFA), and regularly designs and presents its educational programs. Mr. Brownstein served as Vice Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section, and has been named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, which recognizes only one percent of lawyers admitted to practice in any state. He is a frequent speaker at professional and educational programs, including at Harvard Business and Law Schools, Villanova Law and Business Schools, ABI, the American Bar Association and TMA. He has authored more than 130 articles and has served on the editorial board of The Journal of Corporate Renewal. He also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of abf Journal. Mr. Brownstein is admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Florida, but does not actively practice law. He also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps. For over 50 years, Mr. Brownstein has served as an independent corporate board member for publicly-held and privately-owned companies, as well as large nonprofits. Mr. Brownstein received his B.S. and B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania?s Wharton School and College of Arts and Sciences, and his M.B.A. and J.D. from Harvard University.
