Robert M. Charles, Jr. is a partner with Womble Bond Dickinson in Tucson, Ariz. The firm?s bankruptcy working group leader, he practices primarily bankruptcy law in both Arizona and Nevada. Mr. Charles is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy and a past chair of the State Bar of Arizona Committee on Rules of Professional Conduct, and he served as a member of the Arizona Bar?s Ethics Committee for many years. He lectures and writes extensively on bankruptcy law and legal ethics and is professor of practice (adjunct faculty) at the James E. Rogers University of Arizona College of Law teaching introduction to business reorganization in bankruptcy. Mr. Charles is a member of ABI, sits on the advisory board for ABI?s Southwest Bankruptcy Conference, and was a member of ABI?s National Ethics Task Force. He is actively engaged in the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association?s Business Law Section. Mr. Charles previously clerked for Hon. Earl H. Carroll of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. He received his B.A. from the University of Arizona in 1979 and his J.D. with distinction from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 1982.
