Mr. R. Brian Calvert

R. Brian Calvert is a senior vice president and chairman of the Litigation and Expert Services Practice of Development Specialists, Inc. in Los Angeles, and has more than 25 years of experience encompassing strategic planning, operations, corporate finance, valuation, mergers and acquisi- tions, and complex financial restructurings. He has performed engagements in connection with acquisi- tions, divestitures, partial investments on minority and majority bases, joint ventures, settlement agree- ments and plan-confirmation matters, and he has experience in determining the value impact of various strategic operating and financing decisions. Mr. Calvert has significant international experience, has performed analyses over a broad range of industries and markets and has provided expert testimony in solvency matters. He has also has written about off-balance sheet financing techniques and lectured ex- tensively at various graduate schools of business in the areas of finance and creating shareholder value. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Calvert was with L.E.K. Consulting, the Office Products Group of General Binding Corporation (GBC), as vice president of business development, as well as the Financial and Economic Advisory Consulting Services Group of Arthur Andersen, LLP. He has served on the board of directors of private companies in the office products manufacturing industry and the commercial print- ing industry, and on the advisory board for ABI's VALCON conference. In addition, Mr. Calvert is a fre- quent lecturer and author/co-author of several articles, including the "Due Diligence" chapter in ABI's Bankruptcy Business Acquisitions, 2d Edition (ABI, 2006). Mr. Calvert received his bachelor's degree in policy and administration from Indiana University and his M.B.A. with specializations in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.
